The Watauga River
The clear cool waters of the Watauga River flow past the front yard of The Baird House. Here, one can enjoy flyfishing, tubing, laying on a rock soaking up the sun or simply sitting on the grassy bank with one's toes in the water. It is not uncommon to see a hawk swoop down below the treeline and snatch up a fish or to observe deer cautiously crossing the river. During each unique season of the year our guests relish the spectacular beauty of the Watauga River.
