The Baird House

In the 1780s, Ezekiel Baird settled in Valle Crucis building what is now the Baird House Bed and Breakfast, the oldest house in Watauga County and the only mountain bed and breakfast near Boone on the river. With its wide planked walls, original floors, multiple fireplaces and beautifully appointed antique furnishings, the inn has an abundance of history and sense of warm “Southern Hospitality”. Wake up to the smell of our “legendary” breakfasts after resting in one of our seven distinctly decorated guest rooms.
Relax on 12 acres of riverfront land & rolling pasture. 7 guestrooms, whirlpool tubs, private baths and fireplaces. Serving a large hot breakfast daily. Open year round. Secluded, yet only minutes away from Boone, Blowing Rock ,the Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain, the Baird House Inn is the perfect, quiet getaway. Comfortably furnished with antiques and heirlooms from several generations. You will feel at home the moment you open the door.
